Coastal Navigation
Shore-based Course

With Offshore's Coastal Navigation Course you can learn to navigate in a classroom setting or on board a catamaran during a Live Aboard Navigation course. In this sailing and navigation training course, you gain the skills that ensure safe and successful navigation in coastal waters. Whether you actually experience all this or not, you will come away from this sailing and navigation training with the confidence to safely navigate through challenging conditions, shallow waters, changing tides, currents and low visibility.

Prerequisite course: Basic navigation skills (like knowledge gained with Bareboat Cruising Certification)

Certification: Coastal Navigation

Course texbookt: US SAILING Coastal Navigation

Your textbook is included with course tuition, or can be ordered here at the Online Bookstore

US SAILING Certification is also available for this course.

How it Works

The course concentrates on traditional navigation techniques with GPS aid, in 20 hours of classroom instruction or during your Catamaran Live Aboard Navigation course. It’s the most challenging, most rewarding navigation course you’ll find!
